Will my insurance pay the entire job? As long as your home insurance
is up to date, your insurance is entitled to pay the bill for the
drying/restoration of the structure of your home and to reconstruct
your home back to its original condition.
Will my insurance pay my plumbing repair? The
insurance will only pay to get to the source of the leak and to
repair the damage caused by getting to the source for ex: they will
pay the contractor to cut concrete and to patch concrete on a slab
leak, but not for the actual repair.
If I have to stay in a hotel with my family, will that be covered?
Yes, the insurance will pay for you to stay in a decent hotel. You
will have to pay out of pocket but they will reimburse you for the
total of your hotel receipts. The insurance will also pay for any
extra amount of money that was used due to staying out of the home and
eating out for ex: if you and your
family usually spend $300 in food
and this month
due to the water loss
you spent
$375, they
will
pay you the difference. Keep all your receipts.
Due to the drying equipment that is being used in my
home, the electrical bill will be higher. Will my insurance cover
the high electricity usage?
Yes. The insurance will want to see the usage for the past 3 months.
They will take that and see what the difference was and pay you for
the difference.
How does the drying science work with your equipment?
An air mover/fan will create air movement which draws moisture from
wet surfaces through evaporation into the air and the dehumidifier
will draw the moisture from the wet air and convert it back into a
liquid draining it out through a tube in to a near by drain or
bucket. (see picture at bottom page) |
